Must be able to work from a recipe and have experience cooking in large quantities for catering of groups from 12 – 200. Responsibilities include meats, sauces, soups, and side dishes.
Private Chef (subcontracted, rate negotiable)
Our in-home private chef services are being expanded to include options in a variety of culinary styles. We are looking for seasoned chefs that can bring something unique to the table. We are particularly interested in those specializing in barbecue, farm-to-table, and international/regional cuisines. Must hold your own insurance.
Banquet Servers (occasional Fridays & Saturdays, $12/hr + tips)
We are looking for happy, smiling, experienced banquet servers for our summer events. Typical events include weddings, birthdays, showers, and clubs/church groups. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and carry up to 35lbs. Drivers license and reliable transportation required. Year-round and Seasonal
Culinary Internship (unpaid/for credit BOCES or SUNY Adirondack)
The kitchen trainee at Samantha’s Cafe & Catering is an unpaid internship with the potential to become a paid position after a trial period. The student will learn how to manage their time in the kitchen to prepare foods for the cafe and farmers market while also assisting with prep cooking for catering. Basic knife skills and attention to detail are required. Examples of typical tasks include general sanitation, preparation of signature cafe dishes (soups, baked mac & cheese, quiche, housemade condiments), farmers market products (deli salads, chicken pot pies, Take & Bake meals), catering prep (assembly of pastry hors d’oeuvres, hot appetizers, entree prep).
Marketing Internship (unpaid/for credit SUNY Adirondack)
Summer marketing intern will be involved with promotion of community activities including Take A Bite in Downtown Glens Falls. distribution of marketing materials to local businesses, media list management, social media management (Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter), foodie trend research, and marketing plan topics (including new mission statement, image planning, new menus, updated SWOT). Student should have an interest in small business, food, and marketing. All projects are part of our active marketing efforts – no “busy work” involved in this internship!
